There isn't a More Powerful Combination than Physical Activity and Exercise

By Dr Graeme Teague

Do you have a feeling that exercising or engaging in more physical activity would be good for you? If this is the case, you should consider the possibility that your body is sending you a message. When it comes to what your body needs, it often knows this better than your intellectual mind. Your body wants to be in a natural state which is healthy, energetic, and strong. By choosing a good fitness or exercise routine, you can help return your body to this state. The key is to work out frequently at some vigorous activity, but you don't have to go to extremes and become a triathlete. There are lots of reasons to pursue physical activity and exercise, so let's explore a few of them now.

You don't have to engage in running, jogging, or power walking to keep your bones strong and healthy. If you like to dance, then regular dancing will do the trick quite nicely. The reason for this is that it's a type of exercise that's weight-bearing, like running or jogging. Not only will all four of those exert a powerful influence on your overall body, but they will strengthen your bones. Strength building exercises are also important, as they not only keep your muscles strong, they help increase your bone mass. Women in particular should pay attention to this, as this can prevent many bone related health problems as you get older. With dedication to maintaining your fitness you will make your brain more powerful and more efficient. In a sense, perhaps you can say it makes you smarter due to more brainpower. Greater sense of mental clarity and you brain performance are increased as a result. By sustaining a higher level of blood circulating in your brain, you will have a higher rate of toxin and free radical chemical removal.Your brain will work faster due to the increased brain wave activity.

This is why exercise has recently been found to be an excellent type of therapy for people suffering from depression. As fitness building activities are naturally mood enhancing, you may start to feel more positive about life in general. Feeling better emotionally is a benefit you can get from any regular physical activity, even walking.

Exercise has a tremendously positive effect for pregnant women. Talk to your doctor about exercises that are safe and encouraged during pregnancy. Please see your doctor before beginning any workout routines. It is well-known that the pregnancy term including delivery and recovery can all benefit from exercising. It makes your body better able to tolerate the pain of pregnancy and delivery. In some cases, women who received regular amounts of exercise throughout the pregnancy required less medication during delivery. Stretching is an important exercise to include during pregnancy. There are many ways people benefit from exercise and the numbers are often impressive. It is better to do some exercises rather than none even if you are physically limited. If you haven't been active or exercising for a long time you should talk to your doctor before starting to exercise again. Start slow and work up to a full exercise program. You absolutely must begin slowly and be patient with your progress. This will reduce the risk of injury and put you in a prime position for sustainable results.

We've looked at just a few of the reasons why exercise and physical activity are so highly recommended. This isn't something with limited benefits, but something that improves your body as a whole. It also produces noticeable changes for the better in your moods and emotional states. When you feel better and are in a better mood, consistently, then people will naturally react toward you in a more positive manner.
